Typically, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks may set odds based on statistical models and public perception, while this market allows anyone to trade based on their own insights. Over time, prediction market prices tend to become more efficient as more information becomes available and more traders participate. It's common to see discrepancies, especially before the event, as the market incorporates diverse perspectives and potentially private information not yet reflected in traditional betting markets. This can offer opportunities for arbitrage or informed speculation.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders believe an outcome is likely, the higher the price of its corresponding shares will climb. Conversely, if sentiment shifts towards another outcome, the price of those shares will increase while the original shares decrease. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the collective intelligence of its traders.
This market resolves around Sep 20, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Boyko vs. Kalenyk match, as determined by the governing sporting body. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will receive a payout equivalent to 1 minus the trading fee, while those holding shares in the losing outcome will forfeit their investment. The exact timing of resolution may vary slightly depending on the availability of official results.
