Frequently asked questions

Currently, prediction market odds often reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. While sportsbooks primarily focus on implied probabilities based on statistical models and public betting patterns, this market aggregates the wisdom of the crowd, incorporating a wider range of information and potentially anticipating shifts in sentiment before they are reflected in sportsbook lines. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information access, risk assessment, or simply varying participant biases. It’s important to consider both sources when forming an informed opinion.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and express their views, the prices adjust to reflect the collective prediction. The market’s efficiency depends on the volume of trading and the diversity of opinions represented among participants, ultimately creating a dynamic and real-time assessment of the election’s potential results.

This market resolves around Sep 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official results announced by the Czech election authorities. The candidate who receives the most votes in the presidential election will be declared the winner, and that outcome will determine the settlement of this market. Traders should monitor official sources for the final results as they are released to understand when the market will be finalized.

Several factors could significantly impact this market. Major developments in the campaigns of the candidates, such as policy announcements or significant endorsements, could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected events, like debates or controversies, could also cause price fluctuations. Polling data releases, while already factored into some traders’ views, can still trigger adjustments if they deviate significantly from expectations. Finally, any news related to voter turnout or potential irregularities in the election process could also move this market as we approach Sep 18, 2026.
