Prediction market odds on Polymarket often reflect real-time crowd sentiment and can diverge from traditional sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks typically adjust odds based on betting volume and risk management, while prediction markets aggregate beliefs from thousands of traders with financial incentives to forecast accurately. Key catalysts include team lineups and starting formations announced before kickoff, which affect attacking intent and defensive stability. Injury updates to key forwards or defenders can shift scoring probability significantly. Pre-match analysis from sports media and expert commentary often influences trader positioning. Weather conditions, recent form streaks, and head-to-head scoring history may also prompt repricing. Live match events—early pressure, fouls, or tactical changes—will drive final price movements until the first goal is scored.
