This group concerns a baseball game between the Boston Red Sox and the Texas Rangers. One market asks who will win the game, while the other asks if the game will go to extra innings. Therefore, the markets are fundamentally different and address separate outcomes.
If at least 1 extra inning is played in the Boston vs Texas professional baseball game originally scheduled for Sep 16, 2026 at 8:05 PM EDT, then the market resolves to Yes.
In the upcoming MLB game between the Boston Red Sox and Texas Rangers, scheduled for September 16 at 8:05PM ET: This market will resolve to "Boston Red Sox" if the Boston Red Sox win the game. This market will resolve to "Texas Rangers" if the Texas Rangers win the game. If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, or ends in a tie, this market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is the official final statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 24 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead.
Prediction market odds, like those found on Kalshi and Predict, often differ from traditional sportsbook odds due to the nature of how they are determined. Sportsbooks set odds based on internal models and aim to profit from balancing action on both sides, while prediction markets reflect the collective wisdom of traders who have skin in the game. This market’s odds can be influenced by information not yet fully incorporated into sportsbook lines, such as insider knowledge or subtle shifts in public perception. As a result, prediction markets can sometimes offer more accurate probabilities, especially closer to the event.
Kalshi and Predict can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Prices on Kalshi and Predict for this market may diverge due to differences in user base, trading activity, and platform mechanics. Each platform attracts a different set of participants with varying levels of expertise and access to information. Furthermore, the specific rules and fee structures on Kalshi versus Predict can influence trading behavior and price discovery. These factors contribute to the possibility of differing probabilities being expressed for the same event, even though both platforms are tracking the same underlying outcome for the Red Sox vs Rangers game.
