This market tracks the outcome of the first five innings of the Boston Red Sox versus Seattle Mariners professional baseball game scheduled for June 20, 2026. The result is determined by which team has the higher score after exactly five complete innings of play.
This market resolves based on the score at the end of the first five innings of the Boston vs Seattle professional baseball game originally scheduled for Jun 20, 2026 at 10:10 PM EDT. One of three outcomes will occur: Boston scores more runs than Seattle, Seattle scores more runs than Boston, or both teams have scored an equal number of runs. If the score is tied after five innings, the Tie outcome resolves to Yes while all team-specific outcomes resolve to No. If the game is postponed or delayed, the market remains open and resolves after the rescheduled game concludes, within two days of the original scheduled date.
Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and manage risk, while prediction markets like this one aggregate the collective beliefs of traders who have real money at stake on the outcome. This market may offer sharper pricing on the first five innings because traders continuously adjust positions based on new information. Comparing the two can reveal valuable discrepancies, though sportsbook odds remain a useful benchmark for context.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through an order-book mechanism where traders submit bids and asks for shares representing each possible outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the most recent trades and pending orders, with the spread between buy and sell prices indicating liquidity and uncertainty. As new information emerges—such as lineup changes or weather updates—traders adjust their positions, causing the price to move. This continuous repricing ensures the market stays responsive to real-world developments leading up to first pitch.
This market resolves around Jun 21, 2026, once the first five innings of the Boston-Seattle game are complete and the result is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the actual score and events that occur during those five innings, with no ambiguity about which team was ahead or whether specific conditions were met. Resolution happens automatically once the game data is confirmed, allowing traders to settle their positions and collect winnings or losses based on their predictions.
Several factors can shift prices in this market before it closes. Lineup announcements, starting pitcher confirmations, and injury updates are major catalysts, as they directly affect early-game dynamics. Weather conditions, ballpark factors, and recent team performance trends also influence trader sentiment. Breaking news about player availability or last-minute roster changes can trigger sharp moves. Additionally, any public commentary from analysts or team officials about strategy for the opening innings may prompt traders to reassess their positions and adjust their bids accordingly.
