Kalshi and Predict can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts different trader demographics, fee structures, and regulatory frameworks that shape order flow and liquidity. Kalshi may see heavier retail participation or different leverage rules, while Predict might draw more institutional volume or operate under distinct contract specifications. Arbitrage opportunities between the two venues are often fleeting due to withdrawal friction and platform-specific trading costs. Monitoring both prices helps you identify temporary mispricings and understand which venue is leading price discovery on any given day.
Key catalysts include team roster updates, injury announcements, recent performance trends, and head-to-head historical matchup data. Weather conditions, home-field advantage, and playoff implications can also shift trader positioning significantly. Major news—such as a star player's status change or unexpected coaching decisions—often triggers sharp volume spikes and rapid repricing across both platforms. Monitor sports media closely and watch for unusual volume patterns on this market, as informed traders often position ahead of public announcements.
