Frequently asked questions

On Polymarket, the dashboard for the Red Sox vs. Mets first 5 innings market displays real-time odds and price history as traders buy and sell shares tied to who wins the first five innings of play. The interface shows current market probability, 24-hour volume of $15,003, and historical price movements leading up to game time. This market lets you track how sentiment shifts as game conditions, weather, and lineup announcements develop. You can monitor order flow and see which outcome is commanding trader attention in the hours before first pitch.

Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets are driven by traders risking real capital on their conviction. This market aggregates the collective forecast of thousands of independent traders, which can sometimes outpace or contradict early sportsbook pricing. Comparing the two can reveal where smart money is positioning ahead of the game and whether public perception aligns with market-based probability.

This market resolves around Jul 10, 2026, after the first five innings of the game are complete. The outcome is determined by which team is ahead on the scoreboard once the top of the sixth inning begins, verified against credible public sources including official box scores and broadcast records. Early resolution occurs if the game is called or suspended before five innings are finished, in which case the market settles based on the score at that point. Traders should monitor weather and game status updates as the event approaches.

Key catalysts include lineup announcements, bullpen availability, weather conditions, and injury reports for both teams. If a star pitcher is ruled out or a critical position player is unavailable, expect sharp repricing. Early-game momentum—such as a quick run or an error in the first inning—often triggers volume spikes and price swings. Breaking news on field conditions, umpire assignments, or last-minute roster moves can also shift trader conviction. Monitor sports news outlets and team social media in the hours before first pitch for developments that could reshape expectations for the first five innings.
