Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Polymarket and Predict attract different trader demographics, liquidity pools, and fee structures, all of which influence how prices settle. Polymarket's larger user base and higher volume can produce tighter, more efficient pricing, while Predict may see less frequent updates or different risk appetites among its participants. Geographic restrictions, platform UI design, and promotional incentives also shape which outcomes traders favor on each venue. These differences create temporary arbitrage opportunities; savvy traders monitor both platforms to exploit pricing gaps before they close.
Key catalysts include injury announcements to star players, bullpen availability, recent team form, and weather conditions at game time. Lineup changes, trades, or unexpected roster moves can shift odds significantly. Public betting action and sharp money flows on sportsbooks often precede prediction market moves, so monitoring line movement there offers early signals. Pregame commentary from analysts and real-time updates during warm-ups can also trigger repricing. Close attention to team news and Vegas action will help traders anticipate and capitalize on price shifts leading up to first pitch.
