Prediction market odds, like those displayed for this market, often differ from traditional sportsbook odds due to the mechanisms by which they are determined. Sportsbooks set odds based on their internal models and aim to profit from balanced betting, while prediction markets rely on the collective intelligence of traders who are incentivized to accurately forecast the outcome. This can lead to prediction markets being more efficient at incorporating new information and reflecting the true probabilities of events. Differences can also arise from varying levels of liquidity and the specific markets offered by each venue.
Prices on Polymarket and Kalshi for the Bodrum FK vs. Batman Petrolspor match can diverge due to several factors. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform has a unique user base with differing opinions and risk tolerance, which influences pricing.
