This event group forecasts which song will be ranked #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the week of September 26, 2026. The chart reflects data from the preceding Friday-Thursday period and is published on Tuesdays. The markets allow for speculation on a variety of potential songs.
Billboard updates its Hot 100 songs chart each Tuesday (with adjusted release schedules on some holiday weeks), reflecting data from the previous week (Friday-Thursday). Each Billboard chart is then titled “Week of (date of the upcoming Saturday)”. This market will resolve according to the number 2 song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart titled “Week of September 26, 2026”. Songs will be primarily ranked by order on the specified chart. If two or more songs are tied for any position, ties will be broken by alphabetical order of the songs' listed titles. This market will resolve to the song that occupies the second-highest finishing position after applying this ranking. This market will resolve as soon as the relevant chart is published. If the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the specified week is not published within 14 calendar days of the expected release date, this market will resolve to “Other”. The resolution source for this market will be the official Billboard Hot 100 chart, published on the Billboard website (https://www.billboard.com/charts/hot-100/) or through other official Billboard channels.
Each market resolves to 'Yes' if the specified song ranks exactly #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the week of September 26, 2026. The markets cover multiple songs, each with its own resolution criterion. All markets explicitly state that Billboard has not endorsed these products, and any references to Billboard or the Hot 100 are purely descriptive, indicating no formal affiliation or endorsement. The outcome for each market is binary—'Yes' if the song is ranked #2, and implicitly 'No' if it is not. The secondary rules across all markets reinforce that these are independent speculative instruments not connected to Billboard's official operations or rankings.
Several events could significantly impact this market. Unexpected surges in streaming numbers, radio airplay, or social media engagement for any contender could shift probabilities. Major promotional events, like music video releases or high-profile performances, could also influence trader sentiment. Furthermore, any news regarding potential collaborations or remixes could introduce new variables. A sudden change in public opinion, reflected in trending topics and online discussions, could also lead to substantial movement in the volume of $13,122 and alter the odds for the Billboard Hot 100 race.
