This event group tracks whether specific albums will occupy the #1 position on the Billboard 200 chart for the week of September 12, 2026. The markets span two platforms (Kalshi and Polymarket) with varying question structures but all referencing the same underlying chart data.
Billboard updates the Billboard 200 albums chart each Tuesday (with adjusted release schedules on some holiday weeks), reflecting data from the previous week (Friday-Thursday). Each Billboard chart is then dated “Week of (date of the upcoming Saturday)”. This market will resolve according to the number 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart dated “Week of September 12, 2026”. Albums will be primarily ranked by order on the specified chart. If two or more albums are tied for any position, ties will be broken by alphabetical order of the albums' listed titles. This market will resolve to the album that occupies the highest finishing position after applying this ranking. This market will resolve as soon as the relevant chart is published. If the Billboard 200 chart for the specified week is not published within 14 calendar days of the expected release date, this market will resolve to “Other”. The resolution source for this market will be the Billboard 200 chart for the specified week, published on the Billboard website (https://www.billboard.com/charts/billboard-200/) or through other official Billboard channels.
The event determines whether any of the specified albums achieves the number one position on the Billboard 200 chart for the week of September 12, 2026. Each market corresponds to a different album, and if the named album secures the top spot for that week, the respective market resolves to Yes. All markets share identical secondary rules, clarifying that Billboard has not endorsed these markets and that any references to Billboard or its associated marks are purely descriptive, with no implied endorsement or affiliation between Billboard and the event organizer. The resolution hinges solely on the official Billboard 200 chart rankings published for the specified week.
Key signals that could shift this market include early sales data, streaming numbers on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music, social media buzz, and any last-minute promotional pushes from artists or labels. Major news such as a surprise chart-eligible re-release or a high-profile controversy could also cause rapid shifts. Traders will watch these indicators closely as they refine expectations for the September 12 chart battle.
