This market refers only to the outcome within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time. Extra time and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, data from Flashscore may be used; if Flashscore data is unavailable, data from Sofascore may be used; if neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.

Typically, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd approach, often incorporating information and analysis not immediately available to traditional sportsbooks. While sportsbooks set initial lines based on team statistics and expert opinions, this market allows for continuous adjustment as new information emerges and more participants weigh in. Discrepancies can arise due to differing risk assessments, incentives, or the inclusion of unique data points within the prediction market. It’s common to see prediction markets move faster than sportsbooks in response to breaking news or significant developments related to the teams.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders who believe France will score first, the higher the price of shares representing that outcome will climb. Conversely, if more traders favor Belgium, the price of those shares will increase. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the collective intelligence of the crowd.
This market resolves around Sep 28, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will determine which team—Belgium or France—scores the first goal in the match. The resolution will be based on the official match records and verified against credible public sources. Any disputes regarding the outcome will be handled according to Polymarket’s established procedures, ensuring a fair and transparent resolution process. The outcome will be determined by the official result of the game.
Several signals could significantly move this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Belgium or France would likely cause a shift in probabilities. Tactical announcements from either team’s manager, particularly regarding starting lineups or formation changes, could also influence trading activity. Unexpected weather conditions at the match venue, or even significant pre-match commentary from respected football analysts, may also contribute to price fluctuations. Ultimately, any information that alters perceptions of either team’s chances of scoring first has the potential to move the market.
