These markets evaluate how many points Baylor and Auburn will score together in the final quarter of their college football matchup. Each threshold represents a different level of scoring intensity, allowing participants to assess varying degrees of offensive performance in the last quarter.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams combined during the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) of the Baylor vs Auburn college football game scheduled for September 5, 2026. A 'Yes' outcome occurs if the collective points exceed the specified threshold for each market. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Only points scored in the 4th quarter count, and overtime points are excluded from all calculations.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by individuals trading based on their own information and beliefs. Therefore, discrepancies can arise due to differing analyses, access to information, or simply variations in opinion. It’s common to see prediction markets move faster to incorporate new information than sportsbooks, potentially offering a more accurate reflection of the true probability of an event.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts. The price of a contract represents the probability of the event occurring – in this case, the 4th quarter total points being over or under the specified line. As more traders buy contracts predicting a certain outcome, the price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market depth and trading activity influence price discovery, with larger volumes generally indicating greater confidence in the market's assessment. Traders aim to profit by correctly predicting the outcome and capitalizing on price discrepancies.
This market resolves around Sep 5, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the 4th quarter of the Baylor vs Auburn game will be used to determine whether the total points scored exceed the threshold defined by the contracts traded on Kalshi. The resolution will be based on official game statistics, ensuring an objective and verifiable result. Traders holding contracts on the correct side of the outcome will receive a payout, while those on the incorrect side will forfeit their investment.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the Baylor or Auburn teams would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to affect scoring, could also move the market. Furthermore, in-game performance during the first three quarters could shift trader sentiment, especially if one team establishes a dominant lead or if the scoring pace is significantly higher or lower than anticipated. Public betting patterns and expert analysis could also contribute to price fluctuations.
