Prediction market odds, like those found for this market, often differ from traditional sportsbook odds due to the nature of how they are determined. Sportsbooks set odds based on their internal models and aim to profit from balancing wagers, while prediction markets rely on the collective intelligence of traders who are incentivized to accurately forecast the outcome. This can lead to prediction markets being more efficient at reflecting true probabilities, especially as more information becomes available. However, sportsbooks may offer different types of wagers not available in this market, and may have differing risk tolerances.
Prices for this market on Polymarket and Limitless can diverge due to several factors. Polymarket and Limitless can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform has its own user base, trading fees, and liquidity, all of which influence price discovery. Additionally, differing risk appetites among traders on each platform can lead to variations in probability assessments. For example, Polymarket might attract more conservative bettors, while Limitless could see more speculative trading. These dynamics, combined with varying market-making strategies, can result in discrepancies in the perceived likelihood of outcomes for the Leverkusen vs. Celje match.
