Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, but may also incorporate a margin for profit. This market, however, is driven by individuals willing to put their capital behind their beliefs. If a significant number of traders believe an outcome is more likely than a sportsbook suggests, the prediction market odds will adjust accordingly. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or risk appetites between the two types of markets.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more people buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and vice versa. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price reflects the collective intelligence of all participants, constantly updating as new information becomes available and traders adjust their positions. Current volume is $10.
This market resolves around Sep 20, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Baranskyi vs. Stetsenko match, as reported by a recognized sports authority. The platform will verify the result against publicly available information to determine the winning outcome. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will be entitled to a payout based on the final market price at the time of resolution.
