This event tracks the total bases accumulated by Baltimore Orioles shortstop Gunnar Henderson and Los Angeles Angels designated hitter Pete Alonso during their June 22, 2026 matchup. Total bases are calculated by counting singles as one base, doubles as two bases, triples as three bases, and home runs as four bases.
Settlement is based on official total bases recorded by each player during the game. For Gunnar Henderson and Pete Alonso, only plate appearances while in the starting lineup count toward resolution. If a player is scratched or not included in the starting lineup, the market resolves to fair market price. If a starting player does not record a plate appearance, the market resolves to fair market price. Pinch-hit at-bats do not count toward this event. If a player is in the starting lineup and records at least one plate appearance, the market settles based on the actual total bases recorded.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant pools and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven by traders risking real capital on their forecasts. Prediction markets can sometimes price events more accurately over time because traders have direct financial skin in the game. Comparing this market's odds to major sportsbook lines on the same event can reveal where the two communities disagree on total bases likelihood.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing different total bases outcomes. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the collective belief of active traders at any moment. As new information arrives—injury reports, weather updates, or lineup changes—traders adjust their positions, and prices shift accordingly. This dynamic pricing ensures the market stays responsive to real-world developments leading up to the game.
This market resolves around Jun 23, 2026, once the Baltimore-Los Angeles game concludes and the final total bases count is verified. The outcome is confirmed against credible public sources reporting the official game statistics. Traders holding shares in the correct outcome receive their payout based on the verified total, while incorrect positions expire worthless. Resolution timing depends on when official box scores are published and confirmed by the platform.
Several catalysts can shift this market significantly before Jun 23, 2026. Lineup announcements, roster changes, or injury updates to key players will influence expected run production. Weather forecasts—wind speed and direction, temperature, humidity—affect ball carry and scoring pace. Pitching matchups and bullpen availability also matter; dominant arms reduce total bases, while weaker pitchers tend to inflate them. Recent team form, home-field advantage, and any last-minute tactical adjustments can all trigger repricing as traders digest new information.
