This market tracks which team will score the first touchdown in an upcoming professional football game. It covers all types of touchdowns, including those scored by offense, defense, or special teams, and accounts for scoring that occurs in overtime periods. If no team scores a touchdown during the entire game, a separate outcome is available.
The market resolves based on which team scores the first touchdown in the Baltimore vs. Indianapolis Pro Football game originally scheduled for September 13, 2026, including touchdowns scored in overtime by any unit (offensive, defensive, or special teams). If neither team scores a touchdown at any point during the game, including overtime, the “No team scores a TD” outcome resolves as the winner. Should the game be postponed but commence within 48 hours of its original scheduled start time, the market remains open and resolves according to the official final result. If the game fails to start within this 48-hour window, the market will instead resolve to a fair price. Kalshi explicitly disclaims any affiliation with or endorsement by the governing league, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set their lines based on models and internal analysis, while this market incorporates the collective predictions of many individuals. Often, prediction markets are more accurate than sportsbook lines, especially as the event approaches and more information becomes available. However, sportsbook odds can be influenced by promotional offers and biases, whereas this market aims for a more objective assessment of probabilities. It's common to see discrepancies, particularly in less liquid markets.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous auction, where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about the probability of each team scoring the first touchdown. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a contract reflects the market’s collective assessment of that outcome's likelihood; a higher price indicates a greater perceived chance of that team scoring first. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust dynamically, providing a real-time view of expectations. The current top outcome, according to traders on Kalshi, is Baltimore scoring first.
This market resolves around Sep 13, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will determine which team scored the first touchdown in the Baltimore versus Indianapolis game. The resolution will be based on the official game statistics and play-by-play data, ensuring an objective and accurate determination of the winner. Any disputes will be evaluated against established game rules and official records to reach a definitive conclusion regarding which team achieved the first touchdown.
Several signals could influence this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries for either the Baltimore or Indianapolis teams would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest conditions favoring a specific offensive style, could also impact the odds. Unexpected news about coaching strategies or team morale might also play a role. Furthermore, large volume trades on Kalshi itself can shift prices, especially if they indicate a strong conviction from informed traders. Public sentiment and expert analysis can also contribute to price fluctuations.
