If Ohio St. scores more points in that quarter, the 'Ohio St. wins 4th Quarter' market resolves to Yes. If Ball St. scores more points, the 'Ball St. wins 4th Quarter' market resolves to Yes. Generally, prediction market odds tend to reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often proving more accurate than initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set their odds to attract balanced betting and incorporate a profit margin, while this market allows traders to directly express their beliefs about the probability of each outcome. However, sportsbook odds can sometimes move closer to prediction market prices as the event approaches, especially if the sportsbook adjusts based on betting patterns. It’s common to see discrepancies, particularly early on, as this market incorporates information differently than traditional bookmakers.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing each possible outcome—in this case, which team will win the fourth quarter. The price of each contract reflects the market’s implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the prices adjust to reflect the collective assessment of the event's likelihood. The closer we get to the event, the more the prices will likely converge towards the true probability, assuming no significant new information emerges.
This market resolves around Sep 5, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The winner of the fourth quarter of the Ball St. vs Ohio St. game will determine the winning contract. Resolution will be based on the official game results as reported by a trusted sports data source. Traders holding contracts for the winning team will receive a payout, while those holding contracts for the losing team will not. The platform will handle the payout process automatically following verification.
Several factors could influence the price movement of this market. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either Ball St. or Ohio St. would likely have a significant impact. Changes in team strategy or unexpected starting lineup announcements could also shift trader sentiment. Furthermore, real-time performance during the game itself—such as a dominant first half by one team—could cause rapid price adjustments. Even broader factors, like weather conditions or public perception shifts, could contribute to changes in this market before it resolves.
