Polymarket and Kalshi may price this market differently due to variations in user base composition, liquidity depth, and fee structures. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts traders with distinct risk tolerances and information sets, so consensus prices can lag or lead depending on which venue sees fresh order flow first. Additionally, contract specifications—such as rounding rules or payout mechanics—can subtly influence how participants value the same outcome, causing temporary or persistent spreads between the two platforms.
Key catalysts include injury announcements to star players, bullpen availability updates, and weather forecasts that could influence scoring. Lineup changes, manager decisions, and recent team performance streaks often shift trader sentiment sharply. Breaking news about player suspensions or roster moves can trigger rapid repricing. Additionally, early-game momentum—runs scored in the first few innings—typically drives intraday volatility as traders update their expectations based on live action and adjust positions accordingly.
