Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance their book and manage risk, while prediction markets aggregate the beliefs of many independent traders competing for profit. This market's odds represent a crowdsourced forecast rather than a bookmaker's calculated spread. Comparing the two can reveal whether professional oddsmakers and decentralized traders agree on the second-half outcome, or whether one venue sees value the other has missed.
On Polymarket, traders set prices by buying and selling outcome shares in an automated market maker or order-book system. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the aggregate willingness of traders to accept risk at that level, with higher prices indicating greater perceived likelihood. As new information emerges—injuries, tactical changes, or in-game momentum—traders adjust their positions, and prices move accordingly. This continuous repricing mechanism ensures the market stays responsive to evolving conditions throughout the match.
This market resolves around Jul 22, 2026, once the second half of the match concludes and the result is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome is determined by the official final score or result recorded for that half. Until that point, this market remains open for trading, allowing participants to adjust their positions as the match unfolds. Resolution timing may vary slightly depending on when official confirmation becomes available.
Several in-match developments can shift odds significantly. Early goals, red cards, or injuries to key players often trigger sharp repricing as traders reassess probabilities. Momentum swings—one team dominating possession or creating clear chances—typically move prices toward that team's outcome. Tactical adjustments by either manager, weather changes, or crowd energy can also influence trader sentiment. Additionally, any official announcements or unexpected circumstances during the match may prompt rapid trading activity and price movement as the community reacts to new information.
