Prediction market odds on this market often diverge from traditional sportsbook lines because they reflect a different pool of traders and a unique probability-weighting mechanism. While sportsbooks may set broader lines to manage risk and attract volume, prediction markets let users bet on exact outcomes with more granularity. This can create price discrepancies, especially for less common scorelines. Traders on platforms like Polymarket and Predict price in real-time based on their own assessments, which may be more or less conservative than sportsbook adjustments, depending on recent news and team form.
On Polymarket and Predict, prices can vary due to differences in user bases, liquidity, and trading mechanics. Polymarket and Predict can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. For instance, one platform might attract more European traders familiar with these teams, skewing its odds toward certain scorelines, while the other could reflect a global audience with different expectations. Additionally, each venue may have distinct fee structures or order types that influence how traders place bets, leading to variations in implied probabilities for the same outcomes.
