Frequently asked questions

On Kalshi, the A's vs Chicago WS: First 7 Innings market dashboard displays real-time odds and price history for this specific matchup covering only the first seven innings of play. The interface shows current market probability, 24-hour trading volume of $832, and historical price movements so traders can monitor how sentiment shifts as game time approaches. This focused market lets you isolate early-game dynamics from the full nine-inning result, appealing to traders interested in shorter-duration baseball outcomes.

Prediction market odds on this market often diverge from traditional sportsbook lines because they reflect real-time trader positioning rather than bookmaker risk management. Sportsbooks adjust lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets aggregate the collective belief of participants trading throughout the event window. For a first-seven-innings baseball market, prediction odds may move more sharply in response to breaking news like injury reports or weather changes, since traders can instantly adjust positions without waiting for a sportsbook to post a new line.

On Kalshi, this market is priced through continuous order-book trading, where buyers and sellers submit bids and offers that determine the real-time probability. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders profit by correctly predicting the first-seven-innings outcome, and the price you see reflects the marginal trade—the last transaction executed. As new information emerges or game conditions change, the order book updates dynamically, allowing participants to enter or exit positions at any time before the market closes.

This market resolves around Jul 11, 2026, once the first seven innings of the Oakland Athletics versus Chicago White Sox game are complete and the result is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the final score after exactly seven innings have been played. Traders holding positions at resolution receive payouts based on whether their prediction matched the verified outcome.

Key catalysts include injury announcements affecting either team's starting lineup or bullpen, weather forecasts that could influence early-game conditions, and recent team performance trends heading into the matchup. Lineup changes, bullpen availability, and any last-minute roster adjustments can shift trader expectations significantly. Additionally, early-inning action itself—runs scored, pitcher performance, or momentum swings—will drive price movement as the game unfolds and traders adjust their positions based on live developments.
