Prediction market odds on this market often differ from traditional sportsbook lines because they reflect a probabilistic view shaped by trader activity rather than set odds from bookmakers. Where sportsbooks may offer a single over/under or spread line, this market breaks down outcomes to the exact final score, capturing nuanced expectations about match dynamics. Traders on Polymarket and Kalshi price in probabilities that can be more granular than sportsbook offerings, sometimes showing sharper reactions to new information such as lineup changes or weather updates.
Injuries to key players, weather conditions, or tactical changes announced by coaches can all shift expectations and move this market. High-impact moments such as red cards or early goals often cause rapid repricing, especially on platforms like Polymarket and Kalshi where traders react in real time. Any news that changes the perceived balance of power between the teams can affect probabilities across all possible scorelines.
