Prediction market odds often differ from traditional sportsbook lines because they reflect crowd-sourced sentiment rather than set odds from bookmakers. In this market, the decentralized nature of trading lets prices adjust dynamically based on real-time trader activity. While sportsbooks may incorporate additional factors like sharp money or proprietary models, prediction markets let bettors evaluate probabilities directly through the price signals set by peers.
On Polymarket, this market reflects the collective bets of its user base, while Kalshi may have a different trader composition and liquidity depth. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. For example, regional interest or varying user sentiment can skew probabilities. Additionally, each platform may update its odds on different schedules, compounding temporary gaps. Market design choices, such as fee structures, also influence how traders place bets, leading to price variations even when tracking the same underlying question.
Injuries to key players, changes in coaching strategy, or weather conditions could shift trader sentiment and move this market. High-profile previews from analysts and shifting betting patterns on either platform may also create momentum swings. As the match approaches, any news that alters the perceived likelihood of an Arsenal win, a Como upset, or a draw will be reflected in updated probabilities, especially given the current disparity between Polymarket and Kalshi pricing.
