If the match is postponed, the market will remain open until it is completed; if it is canceled with no make-up game, the market resolves to "0-0." The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, data from Flashscore may be used; if Flashscore data is unavailable, data from Sofascore may be used; if neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook offerings. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and incorporate a profit margin, while this market is driven by traders directly expressing their beliefs about the outcome. If many traders believe a particular scoreline is more likely than implied by sportsbook odds, the price will move accordingly. It’s common to see prediction markets outperform traditional sportsbooks in accuracy, especially as the event approaches and more information becomes available. However, sportsbook odds can be a useful benchmark for understanding initial market perceptions.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing different possible exact first-half scores. The price of each share reflects the market’s collective belief about the probability of that score occurring. As more traders participate, the prices adjust to reflect the latest information and sentiment. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s depth, indicated by the volume of shares traded, also influences price stability and responsiveness to new information. Traders are incentivized to provide accurate predictions, as profitable trades are rewarded.
This market resolves around Sep 6, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the official result of the first half of the Arsenal versus Chelsea match will be used to determine the winning share. The resolution will be based on the exact score at the end of the first 45 minutes of play, including any added time. Any disputes regarding the official result will be addressed using widely accepted football data sources to ensure a fair and accurate resolution for all traders participating in this market.
Several factors could influence the price of shares in this market. Late-breaking news regarding player injuries or suspensions for either Arsenal or Chelsea would likely cause significant shifts. Changes in team formations or tactical approaches announced before the match could also impact trader sentiment. Even weather conditions on match day could play a role, potentially affecting the style of play and scoring opportunities. Unexpected news regarding team morale or internal conflicts could also move the market, as traders react to perceived changes in team performance and likelihood of success.
