Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and profit margins, while prediction markets are driven by trader demand and belief. For this market, prediction traders may price in disciplinary patterns, referee tendencies, and team playing styles differently than bookmakers do. Comparing the two can reveal where one venue perceives higher or lower probability than the other, though each operates independently with distinct liquidity and risk models.

On Limitless, this market is priced through continuous order-book mechanics where traders submit bids and asks to establish the current odds. On Limitless, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price reflects the aggregate willingness of participants to buy or sell shares at any given moment. As new information emerges—team lineups, injury reports, or historical card data—traders adjust their positions, causing the odds to shift. Liquidity and trading volume influence how quickly prices respond to new signals, with deeper order books typically enabling tighter spreads and faster price discovery.

This market resolves around Jul 13, 2026, once the Argentina-Switzerland match concludes and the final card count is verified. The outcome is determined by the total number of yellow and red cards issued to both teams combined during regulation and extra time. The result will be confirmed against credible public reporting from official match records. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome receive their payout once verification is complete and the market is settled by the platform.

Several factors can shift odds in this market before resolution. Team lineups and injury announcements may alter playing style or aggression levels. Historical head-to-head data, recent disciplinary records, and referee assignment can influence expected card counts. Pre-match news coverage and analyst commentary often trigger trader repositioning. Close to kickoff, weather conditions and late-breaking tactical changes may prompt final repricing. During the match itself, early cards, player ejections, or visible referee patterns will drive sharp moves as traders react to unfolding events and update their probability estimates.
