This market will resolve to "YES" if any Iran player performs a ranged weapon gesture as part of a goal celebration in any official 2026 FIFA World Cup match. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "NO." A qualifying gesture is defined as any hand or body movement clearly mimicking the use of a ranged weapon (gun, pistol, rifle, automatic weapon, bow and arrow, or equivalent) in a shooting or firing motion. A qualifying gesture counts regardless of whether the goal is ultimately awarded or disallowed by VAR or the referee. The footage must be authentic. Digitally altered content, AI-generated media, or staged reproductions will not qualify. The Mohammad Mohebi gun celebration from Iran vs. New Zealand on June 15, 2026 does not count as it occurred before this market was created. Only celebrations in matches with a kickoff on or after June 17, 2026, 12:00 UTC qualify. This market will resolve as soon as a qualifying incident is confirmed, or once Iran's participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup has ended and no qualifying incident has occurred. If the 2026 FIFA World Cup is cancelled or postponed after July 31, 2026, 23:59 UTC, this market will resolve to "NO." The primary resolution source will be credible video or photographic evidence; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance liability and extract margin, while prediction markets like this one aggregate trader beliefs through continuous price discovery. For this market, prediction odds may move faster or wider than sportsbook lines because traders are directly exposed to the outcome without a house edge. Comparing the two can reveal whether professional oddsmakers and decentralized traders agree on the likelihood of an Iran player repeating a gun celebration in 2026.
On Limitless, this market is priced through continuous order-book matching, where traders buy and sell shares representing yes or no outcomes. On Limitless, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the collective willingness of traders to stake capital on whether any Iran player will repeat a gun celebration at the tournament. As new information emerges—team rosters, player statements, or historical precedent—traders adjust their positions, moving the market price in real time. This mechanism ensures pricing remains responsive to evolving expectations.
This market resolves around Jul 20, 2026, after the 2026 World Cup concludes. The outcome is determined by whether any Iran national team player performs a gun celebration following a goal during the tournament. Resolution will be verified against credible public sources, including official match footage, broadcast records, and reputable sports journalism. Once the event is confirmed or the tournament ends without such a celebration occurring, the market settles and traders receive payouts based on their positions.
Several catalysts could shift this market significantly. Iran's squad composition and roster announcements will influence trader expectations about which players might score and their likelihood of celebrating. Public statements from players, coaches, or the Iranian Football Federation about celebration conduct could alter sentiment. Historical precedent—whether Iranian players have performed gun celebrations in previous tournaments—may inform pricing. Team performance and advancement through the group stage will affect the probability of Iran players scoring goals. Media coverage and cultural commentary leading up to the tournament could also sway trader conviction about this outcome.
