Description

This market will resolve to "YES" if any game during the 2026 Esports World Cup (EWC) Dota 2 tournament ends with an official game duration strictly below 20:00 (i.e., 19:59 or shorter), as shown on Liquipedia. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "NO." The 2026 Esports World Cup Dota 2 tournament is scheduled to be held July 7–19, 2026. Primary resolution source: Liquipedia 2026 Esports World Cup Dota 2 event page: https://liquipedia.net/dota2/Esports_World_Cup/2026 Game duration is the time displayed next to each game in the match details. If the 2026 EWC Dota 2 tournament is canceled before it starts, this market will resolve to "NO." If a game begins and an official game duration is recorded, that duration will count regardless of how the game ends. If the 2026 EWC Dota 2 tournament is canceled after it starts, or postponed/rescheduled to a restart date later than July 31, 2026, 23:59 UTC, this market will resolve based on Liquipedia information available at the time of cancellation/postponement. If Liquipedia is unavailable at the time of resolution and remains unavailable for 72 hours, a consensus of credible reporting will be used.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction markets and traditional sportsbooks price events differently. Sportsbooks apply fixed margins and employ oddsmakers to set lines; prediction markets like this one derive prices from continuous trader activity and supply-demand dynamics. This market reflects aggregated trader conviction about whether any EWC Dota 2 game finishes under 20 minutes, often incorporating real-time tournament data and community analysis that sportsbooks may lag on. Prediction market odds tend to be more responsive to emerging information, though sportsbooks may offer tighter spreads on high-volume events. Both venues serve different audiences: traders seeking price discovery versus bettors seeking convenience.

On Limitless, this market is priced through an automated market maker or order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing "yes" and "no" outcomes. On Limitless, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the collective belief of active traders, with odds updating continuously as new trades execute. Liquidity and trading volume directly influence how tightly prices are quoted; deeper order books allow larger trades with minimal slippage. Traders can enter or exit positions at any time before the market closes, and the final price at resolution determines payouts for winning positions.

This market resolves around Jul 19, 2026, after the 2026 Esports World Cup Dota 2 event concludes. The outcome is determined by whether any single match during the tournament ends in under 20 minutes, verified against credible public sources including official tournament broadcasts and match records. A "yes" outcome requires at least one game to finish before the 20-minute mark; a "no" outcome means all matches run 20 minutes or longer. Once the event is complete and results are confirmed, the market settles and payouts are distributed to holders of the winning outcome.

Several factors may shift odds in this market before it resolves. Roster changes, patch updates, or meta shifts in Dota 2 that favor early aggression could increase the likelihood of sub-20-minute games. Tournament bracket announcements and team seeding may reveal matchups between dominant and weaker teams, raising the probability of quick stomps. Real-time match results during the event will be the strongest catalyst; each completed game under or over 20 minutes provides direct evidence that updates trader expectations. Injury news, coaching changes, or pre-tournament commentary from analysts and pro players can also influence sentiment about game pace and decisiveness.
