Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market is driven by traders directly expressing their beliefs about the outcome. If there is a significant discrepancy between the implied probability on Polymarket and sportsbook odds, it could indicate differing expert opinions or information advantages held by market participants. It's common to see prediction markets more accurately forecast events, especially when there's substantial public interest.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome.
