Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market allows traders to continuously adjust probabilities based on new information and analysis. Discrepancies can arise due to differing opinions, access to information, or biases present in each system. It's common to see prediction markets more accurately forecast outcomes, especially when there is significant public interest and trading volume, but this is not always the case.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders believe an outcome is likely, the higher the share price will rise, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the collective intelligence of all participants, creating a probabilistic forecast for the Antalya doubles match.
