This market covers the second set of the professional tennis match between Ann Li and Zeynep Sonmez at the 2026 Wimbledon Women's Singles Round of 128 on June 29. The winner of set 2 will be determined by standard tennis scoring rules.
Resolution is based on which player wins set 2 in the specified match. If the match does not occur before play begins due to injury, walkover, forfeiture, or cancellation, the market resolves to a fair price. If postponed or delayed, the market remains open until the rescheduled match concludes within two weeks. If a player retires, markets that can be unconditionally settled based on completed play resolve accordingly; those that cannot are resolved to Fair Market Price at the Exchange's discretion.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets aggregate beliefs from traders risking real capital on outcomes. This market may show different implied probabilities than traditional sports betting sites, especially as match conditions change. Comparing the two can reveal where the crowd's consensus on the set winner differs from bookmaker pricing, though both sources provide valuable perspective on the likely outcome.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through an order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing each possible outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each contract reflects the collective assessment of that outcome's probability, with contracts trading between 0 and 100 cents. As new trades execute, prices adjust to reflect updated sentiment. You can place limit or market orders to enter or exit positions, and the spread between bid and ask prices shows the current liquidity and conviction around the set winner outcome.
This market resolves around Jun 29, 2026, once the Li vs Sonmez match concludes and the second set winner is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by official match records and confirmed through reliable sports reporting. Until that point, traders can continue to buy and sell contracts as the match unfolds and new information becomes available. Resolution is automatic once the event result is confirmed, and all positions settle according to the final outcome.
Several factors could shift odds in this market before resolution. Early set performance, momentum swings, and player fatigue during the match are primary catalysts. Injury concerns or unexpected tactical adjustments by either player can trigger sharp repricing. Weather conditions, court surface conditions, and crowd dynamics may also influence trader sentiment. Additionally, real-time match statistics—break points, service holds, and rally patterns—often drive intraday volatility as traders update their probability assessments based on how the set actually unfolds.
