Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts different trader demographics, liquidity pools, and fee structures, which can create temporary price gaps. Kalshi and Polymarket may also interpret or weight team-specific factors—such as recent batting form or pitch conditions—differently. Arbitrage opportunities sometimes emerge when one platform reprices faster than the other following team announcements or weather updates. These spreads typically narrow as the match approaches and information becomes universally available.
Key catalysts include confirmed team lineups, injury announcements affecting power hitters, and weather forecasts that influence pitch behavior and boundary distances. Recent form data—such as six-hitting rates from prior league matches—often triggers repricing. Toss results and pitch reports closer to match time can shift momentum sharply. Early innings action also matters; if one team establishes a commanding six advantage early, traders may rapidly adjust positions, causing significant price swings in the final hours before kickoff.
