This market tracks the outcome of the second set in the professional tennis match between Alexis Galarneau and Oliver Tarvet at the 2026 Wimbledon Men's Singles Qualification Final on June 24. The winner of set 2 will determine the market resolution.
The market resolves to Yes if either Alexis Galarneau or Oliver Tarvet wins set 2 of their professional tennis match in the 2026 Wimbledon Men Singles Qualification Final. If the match does not occur before play begins due to injury, walkover, forfeiture, or cancellation, the market resolves to a fair price. If the match is postponed or delayed, the market remains open and closes after the rescheduled match concludes within two weeks. If a player retires, markets that can be unconditionally settled based on completed play resolve accordingly; those that cannot are resolved to Fair Market Price at the Exchange's discretion.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven by traders risking real capital on their beliefs about the outcome. Prediction markets tend to incorporate information quickly and can be more efficient at pricing uncertain events, especially when traders have specialized knowledge. However, sportsbooks may adjust faster during live events due to their professional risk management. Comparing the two can reveal where public opinion on this market differs from professional oddsmakers' assessments.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders submit bids and asks for shares representing each outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the collective belief of all active traders about the likelihood of that outcome occurring. As new trades execute, prices adjust in real time to clear supply and demand. Traders can enter or exit positions at any time before the market closes, and the final price just before resolution serves as the market's ultimate consensus forecast. This mechanism ensures prices remain responsive to new information and trader conviction.
This market resolves around Jun 24, 2026, once the second set of the Galarneau versus Tarvet match concludes and the winner is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which player wins the set according to official match records or reputable sports reporting. No further action is required from traders after the event concludes; the platform will confirm the result and settle all positions automatically. Early resolution is possible if the match is officially cancelled or abandoned before the set is completed, though such scenarios are rare in professional tennis.
Several factors could shift trader sentiment before this market settles. Recent form and head-to-head records between the two players often influence opening odds. Injury reports or last-minute withdrawals would trigger sharp repricing. Court surface, weather conditions, and match scheduling details can affect player performance expectations. If the first set result is decisive, traders may adjust their view of momentum and fatigue for the second set. Live match developments—such as early breaks, service performance, or visible physical strain—will prompt real-time trading activity. News about either player's fitness or mental state closer to the event date could also move prices meaningfully.
