This market tracks the winner of the first set in the professional tennis match between Alexandra Eala and Renata Zarazua at the 2026 Wimbledon Women's Singles Round of 128 on June 30. The outcome depends on which player wins the first set during regulation play.
The market resolves based on which player wins set 1 in the match. If the match does not occur before play begins due to injury, walkover, forfeiture, or cancellation, the market resolves to a fair price. If the match is postponed or delayed, the market remains open and closes after the rescheduled match concludes within two weeks. If a player retires, markets that can be unconditionally settled based on completed play resolve accordingly; those that cannot are settled at fair market price at the Exchange's discretion.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven purely by trader supply and demand. Traders betting real money on the outcome tend to incorporate the latest information quickly, sometimes pricing in developments that sportsbooks have not yet adjusted for. However, sportsbooks may have sharper professional oddsmakers, so comparing both sources can reveal valuable discrepancies and help you identify mispriced opportunities in this market.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell shares representing each outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the collective belief in that outcome's probability, ranging from near zero to near one hundred. As new information emerges or trader conviction shifts, bids and asks adjust in real time. You can place limit or market orders to enter or exit your position, and the market price at any moment represents the marginal trader's assessment of who will win the opening set.
This market resolves around Jun 30, 2026, once the Eala versus Zarazua match concludes and the first set winner is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which player wins the opening set according to official tennis scoring rules. Until that point, prices may fluctuate based on pre-match analysis, player form, court conditions, and any other factors traders believe affect the result. Resolution is automatic once the event is confirmed, and payouts are distributed to holders of the winning outcome.
Several factors can shift prices before the match begins. Injury reports or withdrawal announcements involving either player would trigger sharp repricing. Recent tournament results, head-to-head records, and surface preference (clay, grass, hard court) all influence trader conviction. Weather forecasts, court assignments, and seeding announcements closer to match day often spark volatility. Media coverage highlighting one player's form or momentum can also sway sentiment. Additionally, line movement on sportsbooks or news from other prediction markets may prompt traders to adjust positions, creating cascading price moves in this market as new information flows in.
