Frequently asked questions

Generally, prediction market odds tend to reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often proving more accurate than traditional sportsbook odds, particularly as an event approaches. Sportsbooks may incorporate biases or seek to profit from public perception, while this market aggregates the beliefs of informed traders. However, sportsbook odds can still offer a useful comparison point. Discrepancies between the two can sometimes present arbitrage opportunities, though these are often quickly exploited. It's important to note that sportsbooks and this market have different cost structures and motivations, leading to potential differences in pricing.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each possible outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and express their views, the prices adjust, reflecting the collective forecast. The current price of shares for each exact score reflects the market’s assessment of the likelihood of that result in the Zverev vs. Shelton match. The market’s efficiency depends on active participation and informed trading.

This market resolves around Sep 20, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final score of the Zverev vs. Shelton match is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result published by the tournament organizers. Any potential delays in official reporting may impact the resolution timeline, but the outcome will ultimately be determined by the verified match results. Traders should monitor official sources for updates as the event concludes to understand the basis for resolution.

Several factors could influence trading activity and shift the odds in this market. News regarding player injuries to either Zverev or Shelton would be a significant catalyst. Any updates on their physical condition, training status, or pre-match assessments could lead to substantial price movements.
