Issue:

Kalshi's resolution logic omits explicit handling of postponement, cancellation, and shootout scoring adjustments that Polymarket clearly defines. This creates settlement ambiguity for edge-case outcomes.

Hero Tip:

Favor Polymarket for clarity on postponement (market stays open) and cancellation (50-50 split). Before trading on Kalshi, confirm their policy on canceled games and whether shootout goals are counted as stated or adjusted per Polymarket's one-goal rule.

Critical Divergence Points:

  • Polymarket: Three-outcome framework: Bakersfield win resolves to Bakersfield Condors, Coachella Valley win resolves to Coachella Valley Firebirds, postponement keeps market open, cancellation with no makeup resolves 50-50. Shootout adds one goal to winner's score for resolution purposes. Key Quote: 'If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, this market will resolve 50-50.'
  • Kalshi: Binary yes/no structure: Yes if Bakersfield wins OR if Coachella Valley wins. No explicit guidance on postponement, cancellation, or shootout scoring. Key Quote: 'If Bakersfield Condors wins... then the market resolves to Yes. If Coachella Valley Firebirds wins... then the market resolves to Yes.'
