Description

In the upcoming AHL game, scheduled for April 23 at 10:10PM ET: If Bakersfield Condors win, the market will resolve to "Bakersfield Condors". If Coachella Valley Firebirds win, the market will resolve to "Coachella Valley Firebirds". If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, this market will resolve 50-50. The result will be determined based on the final score including any overtime periods and shootouts. In the event of a shootout, one goal will be added to the winning team's score for the purpose of resolution.

Divergence Detected

Issue:

Kalshi market contains a logical contradiction: both outcomes (Coachella Valley Firebirds win OR Bakersfield Condors win) resolve to YES, making the market fundamentally unresolvable. Polymarket correctly specifies mutually exclusive outcomes.

Hero Tip:

Do not trade the Kalshi market. The resolution logic is broken—it resolves YES regardless of which team wins, creating an arbitrage trap. Trade only on Polymarket, which has coherent binary logic (one team wins, market resolves to that team's name).

Critical Divergence Points:

  • Kalshi: Both possible outcomes resolve to YES. Rule 1 states 'If Coachella Valley Firebirds wins...then the market resolves to Yes.' Rule 2 states 'If Bakersfield Condors wins...then the market resolves to Yes.' Since one team must win, the market always resolves YES, creating a logical impossibility for a binary market.
  • Polymarket: Mutually exclusive resolution: market resolves to 'Bakersfield Condors' if Bakersfield wins, or 'Coachella Valley Firebirds' if Coachella Valley wins. Includes postponement and cancellation clauses. Result determined by final score including overtime and shootouts.
