On Polymarket and Kalshi, prices can vary because of differences in user base, trading volume, and design. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. For instance, one platform may attract more Australian fans, skewing its odds toward a local favorite, while the other could reflect an international audience. Volume disparities also matter — higher trading activity tends to tighten spreads and pull prices toward perceived fundamentals.
Injuries to key players, changes in coaching strategy, or weather conditions that affect gameplay can all shift this market. Additionally, strong pre-game momentum or recent head-to-head performance may sway trader sentiment. As the match approaches, any news that alters the perceived likelihood of a win can cause rapid price adjustments across platforms.
