Adam Walton and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina compete in the first set of their Round of 16 match at the 2026 ATP Mallorca tournament on June 24. The market determines who wins that specific set.
This market resolves based on the outcome of set 1 in the professional tennis match between Adam Walton and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina at the 2026 ATP Mallorca Round of 16. If the match does not commence due to injury, walkover, forfeiture, or cancellation before play begins, the market resolves to a fair price. Should the match be postponed or delayed, the market remains open until the rescheduled match concludes, provided this occurs within two weeks. If a player retires, markets that can be definitively settled based on completed play will resolve accordingly; those that cannot be unconditionally determined will resolve to Fair Market Price at the Exchange's discretion.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven by trader belief and real-money risk. Prediction markets can sometimes offer sharper, less biased estimates because traders profit by being accurate rather than by moving volume. Comparing this market's implied probability to major sportsbook lines on the same matchup can reveal whether one venue perceives an edge the other has missed.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders submit bids and asks for shares representing each outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the probability traders assign to that player winning Set 1, with prices ranging from $0 to $1. As new information arrives or sentiment shifts, traders adjust their positions, and the market price updates in real time. Tighter spreads and higher volume typically indicate greater confidence and liquidity around a particular outcome.
This market resolves around Jun 24, 2026, once the match between Walton and Davidovich Fokina concludes and the Set 1 winner is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which player wins the first set according to official tournament records or reliable sports reporting. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome receive the full $1 payout per share, while shares in the losing outcome expire worthless. Resolution typically occurs within hours of the match ending.
Key catalysts include recent head-to-head records, surface preference, and current form leading into the match. Injury announcements or withdrawal news can shift odds sharply. Weather conditions on match day, court speed, and seeding dynamics may influence trader positioning as the event approaches. Pre-match commentary from analysts and betting syndicates often triggers repricing. Once play begins, momentum swings within the set—breaks of serve, set point situations, and player confidence—drive real-time adjustments. Late-breaking lineup confirmations or coaching changes can also move this market significantly.
