Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and profit margin, while prediction markets price outcomes based on trader belief and capital allocation. For this market, prediction market participants may incorporate real-time team news, injury updates, or tactical shifts that sportsbooks adjust more slowly. Comparing the two can reveal where public opinion on the second half result differs from professional oddsmakers, though both aim to reflect true event probability.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker mechanism where traders buy and sell outcome shares directly against a liquidity pool. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome—AD Cali win, Jaguares win, or draw—adjusts dynamically based on trading volume and the ratio of shares held in the pool. Higher demand for a particular outcome pushes its price upward, while lower demand lowers it. This continuous repricing ensures the market reflects the latest trader sentiment on the second half result in real time.
This market resolves around Jul 25, 2026, once the second half of the AD Cali vs. Jaguares de Córdoba match concludes. The outcome is determined by the final result of that half—whether AD Cali scores more goals, Jaguares scores more goals, or both teams score equally. Resolution is verified against credible public reporting of the match result. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome receive their payout, while losing positions expire worthless.
Several factors can shift odds on this market before resolution. Team news—such as injuries, suspensions, or lineup changes announced before kickoff—often triggers sharp price moves. Early first-half momentum and goals can reshape trader expectations for the second half, as teams may adjust tactics or intensity. Weather conditions, referee assignments, or late tactical adjustments by either side may also influence sentiment. Real-time goal scoring during the match itself is the most direct catalyst, as each goal immediately alters the probability landscape for the remaining half.
