Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, but may also incorporate a margin for profit. This market, however, is driven by individuals willing to put their capital behind their beliefs, potentially leading to more accurate probabilities as new information emerges. It’s common to see discrepancies between the two, especially before a significant amount of trading occurs on Polymarket.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more shares purchased for a specific outcome, the higher its price rises, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market odds are constantly updated based on the latest information and sentiment. The current volume suggests strong conviction in one particular result.

This market resolves around Sep 19, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The result will be determined by which team—AD Cali or Cúcuta Deportivo FC—wins the second half of the match. The platform will rely on official match results to verify the outcome. Traders who correctly predicted the second half winner will receive a payout based on the final share price at the time of resolution.

Several factors could influence the price of shares in this market. Any news regarding team injuries, changes in coaching staff, or unexpected player suspensions could significantly shift expectations. Furthermore, real-time updates during the match itself, such as early goals or red cards, would likely cause rapid price movements. Shifts in public sentiment, reflected by increased trading volume on Polymarket, could also impact the odds. Monitoring these signals will be key to understanding how this market evolves leading up to Sep 19, 2026.
