Generally, prediction market odds tend to reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often aligning closely with, or even anticipating changes before, traditional sportsbook odds. However, there can be discrepancies. Sportsbooks incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while this market allows traders to directly assess probabilities. If a significant difference emerges, arbitrage opportunities may arise for those who can trade on Polymarket and at a sportsbook simultaneously. It’s important to compare the implied probabilities to see where the market and bookmakers diverge in their assessments of the likely first-half score.
This market resolves around Sep 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Even pre-match analysis from respected football commentators or unexpected lineup announcements could cause traders to reassess probabilities and adjust their positions. Any information perceived as altering the likely outcome of the first half will be reflected in the price action on Polymarket.
