Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets aggregate the beliefs of traders risking real capital on outcomes. This market aggregates trader conviction across many possible exact scores, which can reveal nuances that traditional sportsbooks price less precisely. Comparing this market's odds to major sportsbooks can highlight discrepancies—areas where one venue undervalues or overvalues a particular scoreline. Savvy traders use these gaps to identify edge and inform their position sizing.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that allows traders to buy and sell shares in any exact score outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each outcome has its own price, expressed as a probability between 0 and 100. As traders buy shares in a particular scoreline, its price rises; selling pressure lowers it. The system ensures continuous liquidity and transparent pricing for all possible results. You can enter or exit positions at any time before Aug 2, 2026, and your entry price depends on the current state of the order book and the depth of trading interest in that specific outcome.
This market resolves around Aug 2, 2026, once the match between the two teams concludes and the final score is confirmed. The outcome is determined by the verified final scoreline from the fixture. Resolution happens after credible public sources report the official result, ensuring accuracy and fairness for all traders. Until that moment, all exact score outcomes remain tradable, and odds will fluctuate based on team news, betting patterns, and real-time match developments. Early resolution is not typical unless the match is abandoned or postponed under extraordinary circumstances.
Several catalysts can shift odds in this market before kickoff and during the match. Injury announcements, lineup confirmations, and managerial changes can reshape expectations for offensive or defensive output. Weather conditions on match day—rain, wind, or extreme heat—often influence scoring patterns and volatility. Early match events like an early goal, red card, or penalty can trigger sharp repricing across all scoreline outcomes. Betting syndicates and sharp money flowing into specific scores can also move the needle. Public sentiment, team form, and head-to-head history will continue to influence trader positioning right up until the final whistle.
