The 2026 3M Open is a professional golf tournament where players compete over multiple rounds. These markets track whether individual golfers finish in the top 10 (including ties) after the completion of the first three rounds of competition.
Each golfer's market resolves to Yes if that player finishes in the top 10 (including ties) after the first 3 rounds of the 2026 3M Open, and resolves to No otherwise. If a golfer forfeits, withdraws, or does not participate prior to teeing off in the tournament, their market resolves to Fair Market Price. If a golfer forfeits, withdraws, or does not participate after teeing off, their market resolves to No.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different pricing mechanisms. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and manage risk, while prediction markets like this one are priced by traders who buy and sell shares based on their beliefs about outcomes. Prediction markets can sometimes offer sharper pricing because traders have direct financial incentive to identify mispricings. However, sportsbooks may adjust faster to breaking news or injury reports. Comparing the two can reveal where consensus differs between professional oddsmakers and decentralized trader networks.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders submit bids and asks for each top-10 finisher outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Prices range from 0 to 100 cents per share, with each cent representing a 1% probability increment. As traders buy and sell shares based on their conviction, the price moves to reflect the collective forecast. Higher prices indicate stronger consensus that a golfer will finish in the top 10, while lower prices suggest lower perceived probability. The platform's transparent price history allows traders to track how sentiment has shifted.
This market resolves around Jul 25, 2026, once the third round of the 3M Open concludes and final leaderboard positions are confirmed. The outcome is determined by the official PGA Tour leaderboard, verified against credible public sources. Traders who correctly predicted which golfers would finish in the top 10 after round three receive payouts proportional to their position size. Early resolution may occur if the tournament is suspended or cancelled, in which case the market settles according to the platform's event guidelines.
Several factors can shift odds in this market before round three concludes. Golfer performance during rounds one and two directly influences top-10 probability, with strong scores boosting odds for contenders and poor play reducing them. Weather conditions, course setup changes, and player injuries can all trigger repricing. Breaking news about a competitor's form or health status often sparks rapid trading volume. Additionally, real-time scoring updates during round three itself will cause continuous price adjustments as the leaderboard evolves. Traders monitoring live coverage typically react fastest to these developments.
