This event group determines which artist will rank #3 on Spotify's 2026 Wrapped global top artists chart. Both Kalshi and Polymarket are betting on the same underlying outcome: the identity of the third most-streamed artist globally on Spotify for the year 2026, as officially released by Spotify.
Spotify releases an annual report of its most-streamed artists (see: https://newsroom.spotify.com/2024-12-04/top-songs-artists-podcasts-audiobooks-albums-trends-2024/). This market will resolve according to the third most-streamed Spotify artist for 2026. If Spotify does not release its third most-streamed artist for 2026 by January 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will default to "Other". If Spotify lists more than one artist as the third most-streamed artist, this market will resolve in favor of the artist whose name comes first in alphabetical order. The resolution source for this market will be official information from Spotify, typically released as part of Spotify Wrapped. This market and these products have not been endorsed by Spotify. Any references to Spotify, Spotify charts, streaming data, or any associated marks are descriptive only and do not indicate an endorsement of this product or any affiliation between Spotify and Polymarket. Spotify and related marks are the property of Spotify AB and its group companies.
The market resolves to Yes if any of the specified artists achieves the #3 most-streamed position on Spotify's 2026 Spotify Wrapped Top 10 Artist Globally chart on the date the chart is released. Resolution is determined by Spotify's official rankings for that year. Only one artist can hold the third position, so only one outcome will resolve affirmatively.
Prediction market odds often offer a different perspective than traditional analyst forecasts. While analysts rely on subjective assessments and historical data, this market reflects the collective wisdom of traders who are incentivized to accurately predict the outcome. Discrepancies can arise due to differing methodologies and information access. For example, traders may incorporate real-time data or insights not readily available to analysts. This dynamic interplay between market-based predictions and expert opinions provides a more nuanced understanding of potential scenarios surrounding the top artists on Spotify.
Prices on Polymarket and Kalshi can diverge due to several factors. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts a different pool of traders with varying risk appetites and information sets. Trading fees, platform-specific rules, and liquidity levels can also contribute to price discrepancies. Currently, Polymarket favors Will Taylor Swift be the third most streamed Spotify artist for 2026? at 75.5%, while Kalshi leans toward Will Taylor Swift be the #3 most streamed Artist on the 2026 Spotify Wrapped Top 10 Artist Globally chart on the date that the chart is released for 2026? at 74.0%. These differences present arbitrage opportunities for traders who can capitalize on price inefficiencies across the two venues.
This market resolves around Feb 1, 2027, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the resolution will be based on the Spotify Wrapped 2026 Top 10 Artist Globally chart, determining which artist holds the #3 position in total streams. The outcome will be verified against publicly available data released by Spotify, ensuring a transparent and objective assessment of the results. Traders should monitor announcements from Spotify as Feb 1, 2027 approaches for the official release of the chart.
Several signals could significantly impact this market. Major album releases or singles from key artists will be closely watched, as these directly influence streaming numbers. Shifts in music trends, viral social media moments, and artist collaborations could also drive changes in market prices. Unexpected events, such as an artist’s public controversies or a sudden surge in popularity for a rising star, could also create volatility. Traders should pay attention to these developments and adjust their positions accordingly as we approach the release of the 2026 Spotify Wrapped chart.
