The ceremony for the 79th Annual Tony Awards is scheduled for June 7, 2026. This market will resolve according to the listed show that wins the award for Best Revival of a Play at the 79th Annual Tony Awards. If, for any reason, no winner is declared by August 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or in case of a tie for the winner, this market will resolve in favor of the listed contender whose title comes first in alphabetical order. The resolution source will be the television broadcast of the Tony Awards and the official Tony website (https://www.tonyawards.com/); however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
Prediction market odds on Polymarket reflect real-money consensus from traders and often diverge from traditional analyst predictions and award-show forecasts. While analysts may rely on critical reviews, industry buzz, and historical voting patterns, prediction markets incorporate live information and trader conviction through price discovery. Comparing Polymarket odds to published predictions from theater critics, award columnists, and industry publications can reveal where the market is more or less bullish on specific revivals. Markets typically adjust faster than formal forecasts when new information emerges about voter sentiment or campaign momentum.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, each eligible revival play is represented as a separate contract, and the price of each contract reflects the market's implied probability that play will win Best Revival of a Play. Prices range from 0 to 1 (or 0% to 100%), with higher prices indicating stronger market confidence. Traders buy and sell contracts based on their conviction, and the order book depth determines how easily large positions can be entered or exited. Volume and liquidity vary by nominee; frontrunners typically attract tighter spreads and deeper liquidity than long-shot contenders.
The market resolves on Jun 7, 2026, following the live announcement of the Best Revival of a Play winner at the 2026 Tony Awards ceremony. Resolution is determined by the official winner declared by the Tony Awards organization during the broadcast. The winning play's contract resolves to 1 (or 100%), and all other revival nominees resolve to 0. Early resolution may occur if the Tony Awards organization announces the winner before the live ceremony, though this is uncommon. Traders should monitor official Tony Awards communications for any schedule changes or format updates.
Several catalysts can shift odds for this market. Critical acclaim and reviews of each revival's performances will influence voter sentiment and trader positioning. Industry award nominations and wins at precursor ceremonies like the Drama Desk Awards or Outer Critics Circle Awards often correlate with Tony momentum. Cast changes, box-office performance, and media coverage of each revival generate new information. Voter surveys or leaked ballot data can trigger sharp repricing. Campaign activity and industry advocacy by producers and studios may also move odds. As the ceremony date approaches, final predictions and expert consensus shifts typically drive increased trading volume and volatility.
