This market will resolve according to the player that hits the most home runs in a single round during the 2026 MLB Home Run Derby. If two players tie for the most home runs, this market will resolve in favor of the tied player that hits the most home runs during the entirety of 2026 MLB Home Run Derby. If a tie still persists, this market will resolve in favor of the tied player whose listed last name comes first alphabetically. If the 2026 MLB Home Run Derby is cancelled, postponed after October 11, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or the player with the most home runs in a single round cannot be determined within that timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source for this market will be official information from the MLB; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and manage risk, while prediction markets aggregate the beliefs of traders who profit or lose based on accuracy. For this market, comparing the implied probability on Polymarket to traditional sportsbook lines can reveal whether the crowd of prediction market participants is more or less bullish on a given player than professional oddsmakers. Both sources offer valuable signals, but they rarely align perfectly.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that converts trader buy and sell orders into real-time probabilities. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders purchase shares representing each possible outcome, and the price of those shares reflects the collective assessment of who will lead the single round. As new information surfaces or sentiment shifts, the price adjusts dynamically, allowing participants to enter or exit positions at any time before the market closes.
This market resolves around Jul 13, 2026, once the 2026 Home Run Derby concludes and the single-round leader is confirmed. The outcome is determined by verified reporting of which player hit the most home runs during a single round of competition. Resolution occurs after the event is finalized and the result is verifiable from credible public sources covering the tournament.
Several factors can shift odds in this market before Jul 13, 2026. Recent performance data, player injuries, lineup announcements, and training reports leading up to the Derby can influence trader expectations. Changes in player form, equipment modifications, or venue conditions may also impact perceived chances. Additionally, breaking news about participant withdrawals or roster changes could trigger sharp repricing. As the event date approaches, accumulating evidence about player readiness and competitive form typically drives the most significant market movements.
