This market will resolve to “Yes” if the total number of home runs hit on bonus swings during the 2026 MLB Home Run Derby equals or exceeds the listed number. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. Only home runs hit on bonus swings are counted. Home runs hit in a swing off or prior to a player’s final allotted swing (i.e. swing 1-19 in the first round and swing 1-14 in remaining rounds) do not count. If the 2026 MLB Home Run Derby is shortened, truncated, or ends early for any reason, the outcome shall be determined using available official data for completed rounds. If the 2026 MLB Home Run Derby is cancelled, postponed after July 27, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or the exact total cannot be determined within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “No”. The resolution source for this market will be official information from the MLB; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they serve different audiences and operate under different constraints. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and manage risk, while prediction markets like this one reflect the collective belief of traders who have financial incentive to forecast accurately. For this market, prediction traders may price bonus swing home runs differently than traditional sportsbooks because the outcome depends on specific in-game performance metrics rather than a simple win-loss result, potentially offering unique value to those who closely follow Home Run Derby strategy and player performance.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing different outcome ranges. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current odds reflect the aggregate confidence of all active traders; as new information emerges or sentiment shifts, the price adjusts in real time. Traders profit by correctly predicting whether the actual bonus swing home run total will fall above or below the market's implied threshold, incentivizing accurate forecasting and continuous price discovery throughout the event window.
This market resolves around Jul 13, 2026, after the 2026 MLB Home Run Derby concludes. The outcome is determined by the verified total number of bonus swing home runs hit during the event, confirmed once the competition results are finalized and publicly reported. Once the official count is available from credible sources covering the event, the market settles based on whether the actual total matches the predicted range, and traders' positions are paid out accordingly.
Several factors could shift this market significantly before Jul 13, 2026. Announcements about which elite sluggers will participate in the 2026 Derby could alter expectations around bonus swing frequency, since stronger lineups typically generate more bonus opportunities. Changes to Home Run Derby rules or bonus swing eligibility criteria would directly impact the outcome range. Real-time performance during the event itself—such as unexpectedly high or low bonus swing rates in early rounds—would trigger sharp repricing as traders update their forecasts based on observed data and remaining competitors' potential.
