The ceremony for the 2026 ESPY Awards is scheduled for July 15, 2026. This market will resolve according to the listed nominee who wins the award for Best Fighter at the 2026 ESPY Awards. If, for any reason, no winner is declared by August 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or in case of a tie for the winner, this market will resolve in favor of the listed contender whose name comes first in alphabetical order. The resolution source will be the television broadcast of the 2026 ESPY Awards and the official ESPN website (https://www.espn.com/espys/); however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they serve different purposes and operate under different constraints. Sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and generate profit margins, while prediction markets like this one reflect the aggregated beliefs of traders with real money at stake. Prediction markets tend to be more efficient at pricing uncertain outcomes over longer time horizons because participants profit directly from accuracy. However, sportsbooks may offer tighter spreads on near-term events. Comparing this market's odds to major sportsbook lines can reveal where the crowd sees value or disagreement on the eventual Best Fighter winner.
On Polymarket, traders set the odds by buying and selling YES and NO shares, with the price of YES shares representing the implied probability of the outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The leading contender currently reflects strong trader conviction, though prices adjust continuously as new information emerges. Each share trades at a price between 0 and 100 cents, and the market's depth and liquidity determine how easily large trades can move the odds. Polymarket uses an automated market maker model, so prices adjust algorithmically based on order flow and inventory.
This market resolves around Jul 15, 2026, following the conclusion of the 2026 ESPY Awards ceremony. The outcome is determined by which fighter receives the Best Fighter award at the event. Once the award is announced and verified against credible public sources, the market settles automatically. Traders holding YES shares on the winning fighter receive their payout, while NO holders receive nothing. The resolution is straightforward and tied directly to the official award announcement.
Major fight results, injuries, and high-profile performances will likely drive significant price swings in this market. A fighter's dominant victory or upset loss can shift odds substantially, as can unexpected injuries or retirements. Media coverage, award voting trends, and analyst commentary may also influence trader sentiment. Dominant performances in major combat sports events leading up to the ESPYs could reshape expectations about who deserves the award. Additionally, changes in fighter rankings, title shots, or career milestones could alter the competitive landscape and shift the probability of each contender winning the honor.
