Spotify curates a playlist of the most streamed songs in the U.S. and updates it on Fridays to reflect streaming data for the previous week, beginning on the preceding Friday and ending on Thursday. This market will resolve according to the second most-streamed song in the U.S. on Spotify for the week labeled September 11. Songs will be primarily ranked by order on the specified chart. If two or more songs are tied for any position, ties will be broken by alphabetical order of the songs' listed titles. This market will resolve to the song that occupies the second-highest finishing position after applying this ranking. If Spotify does not release its #2 song for the week labeled September 11 by September 12, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will default to "Other". The resolution source for this market will be official information from Spotify. The Weekly Top Songs - USA chart can be found on open.spotify.com under the "Charts" heading. Currently, the prevailing wisdom from music analysts suggests that “Choosin’ Texas - Ella Langley” is a strong contender for the #2 spot. However, this market reflects the collective prediction of traders on Polymarket, and their assessment may differ from those of traditional analysts. It’s interesting to note how the crowd’s expectations, as expressed through this market, align with or diverge from expert opinions regarding song popularity and streaming performance. This comparison provides a unique insight into the potential accuracy of both approaches.
This market resolves around Sep 11, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the official Spotify US charts for the relevant week are published and verifiable from credible public reporting. The #2 song on those charts will determine the winning outcome. Traders will have until the resolution time to adjust their positions based on any new information released before then. It’s important to monitor streaming data and chart updates leading up to the resolution date to stay informed.
Several signals could significantly impact this market. A major promotional push for a competing song, such as a viral TikTok trend or a high-profile media appearance, could drive up its streaming numbers. Unexpected news related to any of the artists in contention could also influence listener behavior. Furthermore, changes in Spotify’s algorithmic weighting or playlist curation could alter chart positions. Monitoring streaming statistics, social media trends, and music industry news will be crucial for understanding potential shifts in this market’s probabilities.
